Big White Ski Resort
Big White is the second largest ski resort in B.C. approximately 4½ hours drive from Vancouver, situated in the Monashee Mountains.
For the Skier/ Boarder
Big White enjoys over 24 feet of Champagne Powder each year. It is known locally as “hero snow” because it
makes everybody look good! There is terrain for every level from many green groomed runs in the Black Forest
to more difficult terrain at Gem Lake, the home of the snow ghosts. For the very advanced there is the very
aptly named Cliff.....
There are 118 runs serviced by 11 major lifts.....You’ll never get bored. It has the best kids programme
and facilities we have seen anywhere and we have been delighted by our son’s progress within this system.
In Telus Park there is a dedicated boarders area with two half pipes and jumps for all levels. The
Canadian Snowboard Team regularly use this as a training facility.
Apres-Ski
Most of the Apres-Ski centres around Happy Valley and the Village Mall. Highlights include nightly live music, film nights, pop idol and regular firework displays. The kids will love the free twice weekly activities evening.
Kelowna
Big White is 35km (under an hours drive) from Kelowna, the largest interior City in B.C. It is situated on the banks of Lake Okanagan and is now regarded as the most desirable Canadian City in which to live. If you don’t have a car there is a bus service from Big White for only $10 CDN return. The breathtaking views of the lake and the Mountains is well worth a visit.
For the Non-Skier
Mega Snowcoaster, snow mobiling , ice skating, dog sleds and horse drawn sleigh rides to name but a few of the activities available.
